Are Omega 3 fish-oil pills only used as dietary supplements?

I want to start taking fish-oil pills with Omega 3 in it, but I don’t really care about the dietary reasons; I’m already skinny/ slender, and I don’t want to get some eating disorder from taking diet pills (if it’ll even affect me). I heard that fish-oil pills are a great beauty product and does wonders for your skin. Would it be “hazardous” to take these pills?

Should you be taking omega 3 —

Omega 3 fish oils (the long chain ones) used to be promoted as being good for your joints, it’s odd that research has shown it one of the few things they don’t actually do.

Omega 3’s are essential fatty acids that our body’s cannot synthesize. It appears they have multiple beneficial physical and mental health effects. It’s the fact that they keep people content that leads to the weight management effect. I say management because the odd effect is that people taking them tend to be closer to their ideal rather than above or below. Taken in the prescribed dosage there are no unwanted effects from taking Omega 3’s. Whether it’ll do enough to make your skin look better I don’t know, but based on everything I’ve read I take them daily, and would recommend them to others.
